Nissan Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

With the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story coming up on May 25, the Nissan Star Wars partnership will continue. One of six partners this time around, Nissan hasn’t announced how it will work with Lucasfilm to promote the new Han Solo movie, but we can guess based on previous marketing strategies.

Lucasfilm will also join forces with Denny’s, Esurance, General Mills, Symantec, and-appropriately-SOLO Cup, all of which will design campaigns around relating their products back to Solo.

When using Nissan’s lineup in Star Wars promotional campaigns, especially the Nissan Rogue during marketing for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm and Nissan made sure to highlight in-car technology to show its similarity to the tech found in Star Wars. Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility System in particular has been adapted for use in virtual reality experiences at auto shows for fans to test out.

Since we also got the Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Edition when Rogue One was released, we may also see another special edition Nissan vehicle. Whether it would be another Nissan Rogue or a different option from the Nissan lineup, history would suggest that it’ll be styled after the movie-so let’s hope for a Millennium Falcon Maxima!

While you wait for the movie’s release, visit us at Bill Seidle’s Nissan to test drive your favorite model.

Nissan 370z

The Nissan 370Z design is sleek and athletic, as this sports car is not for the faint of heart. However, the 370Z also hasn’t received a major update since 2009, and there have been rumors that the model was headed for the chopping block. We at Bill Seidle’s Nissan are here to tell you the 370Z will not be discontinued-at least not any time soon.

According to The News Wheel, Nissan recently said it’s focusing most of its efforts on the GT-R. Part of the reason is because the 370Z is already a great seller. It’s affordable, stylish, and handles great, which are a few obvious reasons it doesn’t really need to be updated. Why fix what’s not broken? There are a few minor tweaks that we may see in upcoming lineups, however.

“[W]e still believe there is a place for the Z and we want to keep it alive, and that’s what we’re working on,” said Philippe Klein, Nissan’s Chief Planning Officer, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The current 370Z comes with a coupe exterior design and a standard 332-horsepower engine. You can also update to the NISMO® trim with 350 horsepower, an aerodynamic kit, and a tuned suspension. The latest 370Z also has the best in infotainment, from available rearview camera to Bose® premium audio system.

To order the Nissan 370Z, contact us at Bill Seidle’s Nissan. We’d be happy to send you home with this enviable sports car.

Race Flag

Austin Riley, an 18-year-old racecar driver from Uxbridge, Ontario, is gaining attention after a recent Nissan documentary featured the driver. Riley, who is the first autistic racecar driver in Canada, started his second season in the Nissan Micra Cup in Canada, and the short documentary centers on Austin’s career over the years. We at Bill Seidle’s Nissan couldn’t be more impressed with Austin’s work.

Though there are still aspects of autism that are not understood in the medical community, the disability is generally diagnosed in patients who may have difficulty with certain social or behavioral cues, those who have trouble with language or figurative meaning, or those who compulsively perform repetitive behaviors. According to The News Wheel, Austin was diagnosed when he was 12 years old, and he even worked with his family to form the organization Racing with Autism.

“Stories like Austin’s give us great joy. The Nissan Micra Cup was made exactly for the purpose of allowing people to live their dreams of racing, and the fact that the community has come together in this way for Austin is indicative of the great people involved in this series,” said Joni Paiva, president of Nissan Canada Inc.

Austin gained connections in the racing community through his work with Racing with Autism, later joining Azure Racing to become the first autistic driver in Canada to race in one of Nissan’s Micra racecars.

Austin’s story and accomplishments are empowering; we’re glad to see Nissan highlighting his inspirational achievements.

Nissan midnight lineup

Back in 2015, Nissan discontinued its popular Xterra, an off-road-capable crossover that served a large audience for several years. As customer demands shifted toward smaller, more efficient crossovers, however, the Xterra lost its place.

Until now.

A new report suggests that Nissan may revive the Xterra, but it will be a whole new Nissan Xterra, different enough to succeed in the market but similar enough to please loyalists. The new Nissan Xterra will be targeted at the “urban adventurer” sub-segment of Millennials, those who like efficiency and safety features but still want to go off the beaten path.

According to The News Wheel, this new Xterra, while it will share the nameplate with the discontinued model, will be built on a new platform that will prioritize safety, fuel economy, and value.

While Nissan has not officially confirmed the revival of the Xterra, experts speculate that we can expect to see it returning at an auto show this year-most likely as early as the Beijing Auto Show in China this April.

Have fond memories of the old Nissan Xterra? Bill Seidle’s Nissan doesn’t just offer new Nissan vehicles; we also have an extensive lineup of used Nissan models, including the rugged, off-road-capable Xterra. Take a test drive today.

Take on the Galaxy and Take home a New Nissan

Nissan loves Star Wars, and the automaker wants to make the experience of being in the movies possible. In addition to releasing a series of out-of-this-world commercials, Nissan has transformed dealerships into virtual movie sets.

If you haven’t been feeling enough of the Force since seeing the film in the theater, you can reclaim that sensation of intergalactic exploration once again at Bill Seidle’s Nissan. Due to Nissan’s exciting partnership with Lucasfilms, you can experience exclusive Star Wars promotions only at Nissan dealerships.

This includes the incredible Nissan Augmented Reality Experience. Using a specialized device, you can walk around a Rogue, TITAN, or Maxima model in our showroom and see in real-time as Star Wars droids interact with the vehicles (but keep an eye out for Stormtroopers and be sure to duck when the starfighters soar past).

If you love Star Wars the same way Nissan loves Star Wars, hurry at lightspeed to Bill Seidle’s Nissan today! Not only can you play with our inarguably cool (and maybe just a little nerdy) Star Wars toys, but you can even start the process of customizing a Star Wars Nissan vehicle of your very own, including official colors, decals, and lighting.

May the Force be with you!

Brains

You might think that the ability to connect your brain to your car is science fiction, but Nissan is making it happen.

Nissan’s brain-to-vehicle, or B2V, technology begins with a prototype skullcap designed to measure brainwaves. A test driver puts on the cap and drives normally. The cap measures brainwaves, which are compared to the actions taken by the driver. Soon, the cap can start to anticipate what the driver intends to do by processing these brainwaves and, eventually, can assist the driver in performing these actions.

The B2V skullcap isn’t a step for self-driving technology; it’s intended to make driving safer and a little bit more enjoyable for people who want to be involved in their commute. By learning driver habits and connecting these to brainwave output, B2V can help hit the brakes, respond more quickly on the throttle, and turn more smoothly. Overall, B2V can increase driver response time by between 0.2 to 0.5 seconds. This may sound like no time at all, but in the case of an accident, a fraction of a second can make a life-or-death difference.

You can’t connect your brain to your car – yet. But at Bill Seidle Nissan, we have a plenty of cutting-edge vehicles to choose from, whether you’re looking for a sporty SUV or a luxurious sedan.

Happy Holidays

The holidays are right around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time to attend any one of the great holiday events in Miami. Whether you love looking at lights, attending the ballet, or visiting with Santa, there’s truly something for everyone in the area. Hop in your Nissan sedan and start exploring the city today.

According to Trip Savvy, Santa’s Enchanted Forest is a must for any family, especially if you have young children. This venue is open from November through December and into the first week of January; it’s been around for over 30 years. There’s a light show, rides, animals, and more. On some days, there are even carnival acts.

Next, check out the Winterfest Boat Parade. Held in downtown Fort Lauderdale (a 25-mile drive from Miami), this event takes place every year at the start of December. You can see the intra-coastal waterways lined with lighted boats for a 12-mile range from Lake Santa Barbara all the way to Pompano Beach. There’s no better road trip for the winter than the Winterfest Boat Parade.

Finally, visit Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. Starting the day after Thanksgiving, there is a 50-foot tree display covered in lights. You’ll enjoy the lighting ceremony and, holiday music; best of all-it’s free to attend.

These are some of many great holiday events to attend in and around Miami this year. We at Bill Seidle’s Nissan love this time of year.
