The Nissan 370Z design is sleek and athletic, as this sports car is not for the faint of heart. However, the 370Z also hasn’t received a major update since 2009, and there have been rumors that the model was headed for the chopping block. We at Bill Seidle’s Nissan are here to tell you the 370Z will not be discontinued-at least not any time soon.
According to The News Wheel, Nissan recently said it’s focusing most of its efforts on the GT-R. Part of the reason is because the 370Z is already a great seller. It’s affordable, stylish, and handles great, which are a few obvious reasons it doesn’t really need to be updated. Why fix what’s not broken? There are a few minor tweaks that we may see in upcoming lineups, however.
“[W]e still believe there is a place for the Z and we want to keep it alive, and that’s what we’re working on,” said Philippe Klein, Nissan’s Chief Planning Officer, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
The current 370Z comes with a coupe exterior design and a standard 332-horsepower engine. You can also update to the NISMO® trim with 350 horsepower, an aerodynamic kit, and a tuned suspension. The latest 370Z also has the best in infotainment, from available rearview camera to Bose® premium audio system.
