2020 Altimas have a standard 188-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Customers also have the option of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 248 HP of which also uses the CVT. Unfortunately, only the 2.5-liter engine is offered with all-wheel drive…

Fuel Economy

The 2020 Nissan Altima is one of the most fuel-efficient midsize vehicles on the market. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine has an estimated 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. All-wheel-drive models have an estimated 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. The VC-Turbo engine is estimated at a fair 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.

The interior is shockingly incredibly user-friendly. Everything is personalized for the best driving experience possible. The most eye-appealing features are the illuminating interior lighting, memory settings for the driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a power sunroof. This model also includes a flat-bottomed steering wheel and faux carbon fiber for a more sporty look. There’s enough room for everyone in the Altima’s back seat. Every Altima has a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The infotainment interface has a customizable main menu but otherwise few personalization options. Drive Responsibly on Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving holiday season if all about taking trips, long and short. Most of which are road trips. With the busy streets, unavoidable traffic jams, and the number of driving risks presented at overwhelmingly high rates, it is important that you practice safe driving just as you should everyday of the year. Bill Seidle’s wants to give you a few tips and pointers for making your holiday season driving as safe as possible.

Make Sure Everything Is Running Smoothly

The last thing you want on your long Thanksgiving road trip is for it to have some unexpected difficulties. We encourage you to first and foremost keep up with any routine maintenance such as an oil change, windshield wiper fluid refill, and tire checks and rotations. These are imperative to a properly running vehicle. We also encourage you to have a professional inspect your car for any inconveniences. They should be sure to check for any engine lights when performing the inspection. At your convenience, Bill Seidle’s Nissan offers exclusive deals for our service department. Have your vehicle looked at by one of our highly trained and skilled team members.

Avoid Distracted Driving

Focused driving is the safest driving. This holiday season be sure to avoid all driving distractions during your road trip. Florida Law now makes cell phone use illegal while driving, so stay off your phone while on the road.

Driving Sober

This goes without saying, driving under the influence sparks risks for not only your vehicle passengers, but also those you share the road with. Take it easy on the wine this year and drink responsibly. If you plan on having a little extra drinking fun, be sure to plan your ride home. If you do not have a designated driver, services like Uber and Lyft are great options!

Slow Down

Not only are you posing a risk for yourself, but also the people around you when you drive over the speed limit. Law enforcement is all eyes on speeders this time of year due to the high volumes of car accidents and dangerous driving risks. In Florida, the speed limit will never exceed 70 miles per hour. For a quicker trip, use your smartphone Maps app and it will provide you with the fastest route to your desired destination.

Driving to College

You have recently graduated high school and now you are ready to go to college. Whether you are in-state or out-of-state, get ready to go on the best road trip of your life. But first, you’ll need a car. Here, you’ll find tips on buying and leasing.

Buying

Establish a Budget

Start by asking yourself what you can afford. This will let you know which cars you can buy and which ones to save for when you graduate college and get a full-time job. If you can afford to buy it upfront, then go for it! If you can’t, financing is an option.

If you do choose to finance, calculate how much you can spend a month on car payments. In this case, it’s best if you don’t spend more than 10% of your monthly gross income on payments.

Identify and Prioritize Your Wants

What do you want most in a car? Do you want a good looking car? An economical car? A sedan? An SUV? A truck?

Make sure you know the answers to those questions, otherwise you might end up with a car that you didn’t want in the first place.

Test Drive

This is one of the most important steps.

Test drive all of the options to make the perfect selection.

New cars are usually in good conditions. Old cars, however, may not be, so make sure you run the car through a professional mechanic. Sure, it may cost money, but it could save you in the long run.

Leasing

Many drivers are aware of how car leases work, but they don’t know that by using just a few tips, they can end up saving a lot of money. Here are four leasing strategies you may not have realized existed:

Extend Your Lease Month-to-Month

Just because your lease is about to expire, it doesn’t mean that you’ll have to decide whether to buy the car immediately or whether you should find a new one. Many dealerships will let you extend the lease on a month-to-month basis if you’re still unsure if you want to keep the car or not. This gives you extra time to do further research on vehicles currently on the market and to decide if you want to purchase the car you’re leasing.

Sign a Single-Payment Lease

If you have an influx of cash and prefer to lease instead of finance, you should inquire about signing a single-payment lease. A single-payment lease, also known as a single-pay or pre-pay lease, is similar to a standard lease, the only difference is that instead of having monthly payments, the entire amount is paid at the beginning of the lease. This will help you avoid the burden of having to pay a set amount each month you’ll also probably get a lower interest rate.

Gap Insurance

According to the Insurance Information Institute, gap insurance is “the difference between what a vehicle is currently worth and the amount you actually owe on it.” In the event that you get into an accident, gap insurance would cover you for this difference between market value and the amount you own on the vehicle. It’s a good idea to get gap insurance when leasing since you generally pay less on a monthly basis and you could otherwise end up owning thousands of dollars if your car is totaled early in the lease.

Make a Bigger Down Payment

When leasing, you’re paying the difference between the price of the vehicle and the value at the end of the contract, making a bigger down payment is the way to go. For example, if you’re considering buying a vehicle worth $25,000 and make a down payment of $2,500, you’re paying 10% of what you owe if you finance. However, if the residual value of the car is $12,500, paying that same amount for the down payment, means that you’ve paid 20% of what you owe, which could mean a lower monthly rate.

If you’re thinking of buying or leasing a car, call 305-637-5319 or visit our website to learn more about what models we have available. We hope you have a safe drive to school!

Leasing, Buying, and Trade-in Tips

Buying

When thinking about buying a car, you also need to consider where you want to buy your car. Your options include buying from a private seller, online, or from a dealership. Buying from a private seller or online has its advantages, however, here are 5 reasons why buying a dealership is your best option:

  • More Than Just a Sale

Dealers not only want to sell you a car, they also want to earn your business. They often offer other businesses as well, such as services, maintenance, and inspections. Forming a relationship with a dealer is important because it allows you to get service from someone who knows you and your vehicle.

  • More Options

Buying a car from dealership gives options that buying from a private seller doesn’t, such as more car models to choose from. Buying from a dealer allows to test drive and check other vehicles you might not even have thought of purchasing, truly allowing you to buy the car that best fits your needs.

  • Reputation

With a quick Google search, you can read all the reviews and services your chosen dealership has to offer. By buying from a well-rated dealership, such as Bill Seidle’s Nissan, you know that the services you get from that dealership will truly be the best with the most excellent customer service.

  • Financing Benefits

When buying from a dealership, you’ll receive several financing options, unlike when buying from a private seller. Another benefit is that some lending companies won’t finance a car from a private seller due to not trusting the seller to accurately value their car, and if they do, chances are that the interest rates will be much higher than when buying from a dealership.

  • Assistance

If you have any issues with your car after buying it, you can trust the dealership to help you solve the problem, which is not something that usually happens after a private sale.

When choosing a dealership, choose Bill Seidle’s Nissan. We have the best service and a wide array of Nissan models to choose from. For more information, call 305-290-1915.

Trading

Whether you want to buy a new or used car, you’ll need to do something with the old one. You’ll either end up trading it in or selling it yourself.
Reasons to Trade Your Car

  • You don’t want the inconvenience of selling your car. If you trade it, you won’t need to run an ad on Craigslist or other websites that contain private listings and meet with buyers.
  • You don’t want to give out your contact information to strangers.
  • Trading in your car can help reduce the money needed and lower your overall payment.
  • The dealer is experienced at buying, selling, and completing all the paperwork needed by your state and local jurisdictions.

Reasons to Sell it Yourself

  • You know and enjoy the process of selling cars and feel comfortable dealing with the paperwork.

When making the decision to either trade in your vehicle or sell it on your own, weigh your pros and cons of each. Do some research and think objectively about the value of your car. Whichever you decide, Bill Seidle’s Nissan is there for you!

Buying a car has never been easier!

So you’ve done your research, narrowed down a vehicle, and you’re ready to buy a new car. All you need to do now is to narrow down the financial options. Financing a car can be tricky. We at Bill Seidle’s Nissan aim to make it a little easier with some finance tips, tricks, and hints to help you in this process.

After you pick out your dream car, there are some important decisions to make in terms of financing. Primarily, the three basic ways to finance include getting a loan, leasing, or paying in cash. Below is a breakdown of these options, including some pros and cons.

Loan

Most car buyers prefer to finance their vehicles through loans. You can use the dealership for quick financing, or you may also choose to finance through a bank.

This method requires you to make a moderate down payment and finance the rest of the cost. Loans can last several years depending on the sticker price of the car, and they also include added interest.

Lease

This method is similar to renting a car. You will have small monthly payments, and you will also pay little to nothing down as a deposit. While you are responsible for general upkeep, like oil changes and brakes, you do not pay extra for equity.

After your lease is up, you may extend it or get a new car. Leasing is great for those looking for the lowest monthly cost or for those looking to upgrade to a more expensive model without committing to expensive payments.

Cash

Finally, you can always pay with cash. This is often considered the best way to get a car, as you pay no interest and you own the car outright. However, due to the cost of a vehicle, many can’t afford to pay for everything upfront.

Nissan Canto Technology Will Solve an EV Problem

Electric vehicles may just be the future of mobility, but there’s one problem: they’re incredibly quiet. Hybrid vehicles are 35% more likely to get into a pedestrian-involved crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), as well as 57% more likely to get into a cyclist-involved collision. That’s why Nissan has proposed a solution to make hybrid and electric vehicles a little louder: singing.

According to The News Wheel, Nissan recently introduced an electric Nissan concept car that can sing. When we say “sing,” we’re really referring to a chiming noise created by a technology called “Canto.” Italian for “I sing,” the Canto technology is designed to alert pedestrians when a quiet EV is slowing down or stopping near them. The basic idea behind the technology is that if pedestrians can hear EVs, accidents will decrease.

The NHTSA is setting new standards that require EVs to have make audible noise when travelling below 19 mph. Responding to an obvious safety risk, the brand has gladly added the new Nissan Canto technology as a way to keep drivers and pedestrians safe. Plus, the new “singing” cars create an enjoyable atmosphere for anyone in the vicinity of a Nissan EV.

We at Bill Seidle’s Nissan can’t wait to see what the brand does next to improve safety.
